For those who have been holding their breath, there will be much updating over the next few days. Jenny and I have been busier than expected. However, this weekend seems to show promise for some pony play. We hope to post the first few of several step-by-step blogs pertaining to the dismantling process of our ponies. These steps will show you how to get your ponies ready for customization.
Thank you to those who have made suggestions to either myself or Jenny. Feedback from our readers, whether posted on here or not, is always helpful. Also, if anyone has tips or information pertaining to anything you see here, please share! We are always looking for ways to improve things!

Over the weekend Diana and I have found that it is a massive headache to find what we need, as far as tools/supplies go, in order to get our project going. Apoxie clay is one item where we think it is going to be difficult to find. We can think of one hobby store that may have it.....although that is not something we are 100% sure on. Michael's is a store that you can find everything at, just not the one item you need the most. The ponies themselves are frickin easy to find. It's the customizational (whether its a word or not - I'm using it) supplies that are difficult to get.
Goo Off is your friend in this project. It will take off any decal on the pony like nothing. This will allow you to get the pony ready for any ideas you have in store for it and it will also allow you to remove the eye paint easily if you feel that painting over the eye itself isn't working for your needs. Goo Off is a MUST for this type of work, just don't get it on your clothing or you will be sorry. And refrain from smelling it as well, it is powerful enough to give you a headache after a while. So open windows and fans are highly recommended if you plan on using this for a long period in one session.
Any tools you can get your hands on that are Dental or Biology related are good. These are definitely helpful when it comes to the manes. It would also be a good idea to add pliers to your inventory, especially those that are needle-nosed since they will help you get into the tight, narrow areas for tail removal.

We recommend this so that if there is a certain style or color you want to use, you have a collection of pony hair you saved that can be used. We do strongly advise that before you start cutting the manes on your ponies that you rubber band the hair together -or in sections if the hair is multi-colored. This will just make it easier to keep the hair organized for future use.

Everyone has a hobby. Some people find solace in bottle cap collections or knitting. Others take a more intense route and spend their time BMX biking, sky diving, base jumping, or rock climbing. No matter how the cookie crumbles, it's safe to say that every single person has something they can deem "a hobby" (even to the point of calling it an obsession).
That leaves room for stereotypes though.
Girls are suppose to collect dolls, knit, cook, and generally adhere to the social construct of that which makes a woman feminine. Boys are suppose to collect Hot Wheels, dismantle electronics, and get as dirty as they possibly can to ensure they build up their masculinity.
I can safely say that Jenny and I fit into the gray area. We're in the small percentage of people considered freaks by nature, because we stand just outside the widely painted boundaries of society.
Color in the lines?
No thanks.
We'd rather attack the whole picture with chaotic glee, smearing and splashing multi-colored paints across the entire expanse until we're satisfied that any order there once was is now distorted in a magnificently abstract way.
What does this mean?
Well, simply stated: We're weird and our hobby is a little off kilter.
We like to play with dolls and ponies. We like to paint and make things pretty. We're very feminine in that regard. However, we also like to rip the heads off toys, and we like using colors like gun metal gray and muscle car reds.
Which brings us to the backbone of this blog.
For a few weeks, Jenny and I did some research into a new hobby. We both needed something to obsess over. Our attention turned to My Little Ponies. The new G3 version of the ponies are perfect for customization. The heads twist and pop off easily. The tails are nicely clamped on the inside and slide out without any trouble. The manes, while annoying at first, are fun to take off as well. Not to mention the fact that you can buy them super cheap and remove all decals with some Goo Off.
So, thus began our slowly growing interest in My Little Pony customization.
This blog will be our sounding board and showcase for the duration of our pony demolition and rebuilding. You'll find updates of every sort as we move along. Pictures will abound and eventually when we've perfected things, we'll throw up some tutorials. Till then, just sit back and enjoy.
